Chris Lee, Founder/Managing Director

 

Chris Lee is the Founder and Managing Director of Source Loop, a leading provider of telecommunications cost management services for the carrier market.  Chris has over 22 years of experience in various segments of the telecommunications industry concentrated in the areas of network cost management, corporate finance, network engineering and regulatory.  Chris has worked for industry leaders such as MCI, Teleglobe and CBS Broadcast Networks in pivotal roles where his work has greatly contributed to his employers' overall success.  Additionally, Chris was instrumental in founding and building one of the largest and most successful TEM firms serving the carrier market over the last decade. Chris holds a BS degree in Finance from Old Dominion University and an MBA from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. 

 

The following is a summary of some of Chris' achievements over the course of his career:

 

Chris was a member of the founding management team at Broadmargin which, from its launch in 1999, grew to be the market leader in carrier TEM services within 4 short years managing over $8B of telco cost annually for some of the largest competitive carriers.  Broadmargin was later sold to private equity in 2003, generating significant returns for its shareholders.

 

Chris led a team at MCI that developed a software application that was used to optimize MCI’s switched access networks in response to the Local Transport Restructure (“LTR”) proceeding at the FCC saving the company greater than $100M annually.

 

Chris guided the formation and development of Source Loop’s highly successful Enterprise division culminating in the sale of the business unit to Veramark Technologies in June, 2010.

 

Chris has served as an expert witness in five different litigations in various venues opining on subjects including traffic engineering, telco billing disputes, TEM software intellectual property issues and several regulatory matters.

 

Chris has been published in several industry publications including RCR, Telephony, etc. and has been a featured speaker at several major industry trade shows.

Rob Morson, Partner / Sourcing Practice

 

Rob is responsible for managing Source Loop’s Sourcing engagements, working closely with the client and bidding vendors to secure the best available telecom rates and terms for the client.  Rob is also responsible for Source Loop’s administrative requirements, including client contracts. Rob has twenty-six years of financial experience in the Telecom industry, covering all aspects of financial administration for large carriers as well as telecom start-ups. Rob has vast knowledge and expertise in telecom contract negotiations and has led efforts for clients to secure favorable agreements with vendors.

 

Prior to joining Source Loop, Rob was the VP of Finance and Controller for Control Point Solutions (CPS), a leading Telecom Expense Management firm managing over $7B in telecom expenditures. He also provided Legal support for all contract negotiations, managed the Human Resources function and oversaw the company’s insurance needs. Rob was instrumental in the due diligence process for Broadmargin’s 2003 equity raise, which enabled its merger with Teldata Control in 2004. Prior to joining Broadmargin, Rob spent 14 years at MCI in a variety of Finance and Contract negotiation roles. Some of Rob’s responsibilities included: Interconnection Agreement negotiations; leveraged lease negotiations; management of MCI’s Accounts Receivables Analysis group; and management of MCI’s Business Analysis and Capital Budgeting group. Rob left MCI as the Director of Access Strategy and Requirements. Rob holds a B.S. in Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA in Finance and Operations Management from the Johnson School of Management at Cornell University.
